Hello.
My name is Kevin and I'm a Product Designer and Design Lead.

...creating ethical, digital experiences that are intuitive for real people, and making complex processes easy to navigate.

Right now, I'm Senior Product Designer at NearForm, working with a diverse portfolio of global clients, facilitating discovery and design discussion, and delivering smart design solutions. Previously Design Lead at Holiday Extras, leading a talented team of designers, UI engineers, accessibility and customer experience specialists.

I'm a member of the Figma Beta community, you can find me on Mastodon (also on Twitter whilst it lasts), and sometimes on Medium too. I also take way too many photos.

Strong opinions, loosely held.

Playbook

Research. Define. Ideate. Test. Iterate. Repeat.

There are so many ways to approach design, many of them well documented across Medium and Twitter, all offering varying methods and approaches, all with various degrees of influence from the big tech companies that have gone (and blogged or been blogged) before them.

One thing they all have in common though, is that the tools and processes they use, in the way they use them, is unique to each designer or organisation.

In that vain, I wanted to document how I approach the design process – the steps I take and the tools and methods I use to try to find the best solutions for product and design projects. These processes and this document will change and evolve over time I'm sure, but for now this is how I do things.

Digital Product Manager & Design Team Lead

Here I collaborated with stakeholders and delivery teams to define strategic initiatives and prioritise product features and enhancements to create engaging platforms and products for Saga customers – driving loyalty, re-engagement, and retention. I worked as part of the team on launch and later defining the continued evolution of Possibilities – Saga's membership program – leading both the design and customer experience, developing new functionality around search, voucher redemption, product integration, and navigation.

Working remotely with new teams – such as Kantaloupe, OCRO and others – gives me a really broad experience of both clients and working processes. I love it – it allows me to learn new skills and practises, and share my own knowledge, whilst working with such a diverse set of people and industries.
